Awakening to the truth of being human is, for me, a lifelong journey that unfolds with patience and care. I can’t help but picture myself as an archaeologist, gently scraping at the earth with my trowel, hoping to uncover the hidden signs, messages, and artifacts that time has buried away. Each find feels significant, a piece of a larger puzzle waiting to be discovered.
As I grow older, I find myself in a curious paradox: the more I learn, the less I feel I truly know. The wisdom I’ve accumulated sometimes feels like nothing more than a handful of dust slipping through my fingers. This realization could easily deter me from reaching out and sharing my thoughts with you. Yet, I find something incredibly liberating in adopting a beginner’s mind. It invites possibilities into my life. I may not have all the answers, but there’s so much I want to explore. When inspiration strikes, my mind feels youthful, and the journey of discovery becomes the destination.
But I often ponder: why this continuous need for learning and exploration? Why isn’t it enough to simply live, love, laugh, and be? I experience a flutter of envy when I think about carefree living, yet that’s never been in my nature. For me, joy is deeply intertwined with a commitment to something beyond. We all arrive in this world with unique purposes and roles, and I believe the key to a fulfilling life is to embrace and live out that purpose wholeheartedly. My purpose is to be a conscious healing practitioner on a quest to understand what it truly means to heal and be whole. This journey fills me with immense gratitude.
I suspect you’re reading this because you, too, are on a quest for understanding and growth. As we delve into and heal our own pasts and presents, we contribute to the greater healing of humanity. The task of revealing the full tapestry of human history and our potential future is a shared endeavour. As in an archaeological dig, we each toil in our own little plots, and together we uncover a vast mosaic of insight—one fragment at a time.
This is why I have always cherished conversations. There’s something magical about the bubbling up of creativity, the intertwining of experiences and ideas, and the often impossible quest to find words that express subtle feelings and profound experiences. The thrill of finding a companion for these explorations or being part of a group that comes together to expand the boundaries of our understanding, brings me profound joy.
Each of us brings a distinct perspective, even as we dig in the same soil. We share our fragments and weave them into a beautiful whole—sometimes with tears, sometimes trembling with the fear of breaking old taboos, but always with excitement as we edge closer to the unknown. Our conversations become vehicles for the evolutionary impulse that is both an intrinsic part of us and something much larger.
There’s a wondrous mystery in these acts of individual contemplation and shared adventures into the depths of our inner worlds—where we truly connect with one another and the Universe.
Where do you put your trust?
Last week, I wrote about trust as an essential skill for navigating these tumultuous times. When you feel like you’re crumbling inside, when pivotal aspects of life seem to disintegrate, or when the world’s news grows unbearable, where do you choose to place your trust? What sustains you through those shadowy moments?
For me, it’s the understanding that this, too, shall pass. I am part of a much bigger story —life, followed by death, and life again. I trust in the profound mystery that lies beyond the grasp of the human mind, knowing that the Universe is intelligent, purposeful, and generous, even during times when I struggle to see it. I trust in our collective ability to collaborate and unravel the deeper truths of our human condition, empowering us as co-creators with one another and with the universal intelligence that surrounds and flows through us.
I’m excited to share that soon, I’ll be offering new spaces for community conversations—these gatherings are the lifeblood of Tribe in Transition. Meanwhile, I’ve been savouring the responses from some of you to my writings. It’s always a delight to send out a message and receive thoughts in return. You can find my weekly articles on my blog as well as in the newsletter, and I invite you to share your reflections there. Through this exchange, we begin to weave an ever-expanding conversation together.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
I’m not at all spiritual or prone to mythical stories however when I feel alienated and alone in this world I turn to my ancestors, the ones who are in the next life and who remain within me through whatever method “the universe” uses to achieve this. People who I once knew and who I know loved me and only would want the best for me. I carry them within me, they are as much a part of me as my own DNA. I feel we have been totally blindfolded to this “layer” within “the all”. We have been herded into seeing only that which can be detected by our eye-vision and to ignore and even scoff at a deeper “layer” of existence.
We each are sole travelers and to me as well as I hear it from you, nothing is more gratifying than speaking with other travelers in conversations, especially those conversations that have no barriers, and that seek to go beyond the barriers. Challenging indeed but so worth it.

Thank you Denise. I’ve been thinking recently about “communing”. I think your conversations with your Ancestors could be called communing? For me, communing is a beautiful state of being present with self and with a much bigger field of intelligence – and its very nourishing!
