Time
Have you noticed how time expands and contracts? How, when you’re in a state of presence, time seems to disappear or you move into the eternal time of Now? And them when you’re busy and racing against the clock, time seems to contract? Hm, that’s interesting, I know when I’m in presence my whole being is relaxed and expanded, and when I’m rushing my being contracts. That’s what stress is, right? A contraction of physical being and consciousness. So time expand and contracts along with our state of being.
I have a big “to do” list right now as I approach the launch of 3 new projects and I’ve been practicing consciously slowing down, taking time to breathe and be, to relax and nurture myself, if only for a few moments. Santari Green wrote a great article about this last week called the Infinite Moment, you’ll find the link under Quotes of the Week.
Avatar and the Woman Warrior
I went to see Avatar twice last week, I loved it. It was wonderful to see the indigenous people finally winning out over the military/industrial destruction, and it was delicious being in the oh so lush and alive 3D forest, dragon flying and all the rest of it. But it was Neytiri, Princess of the Omaticaya, who most grabbed my attention. How refreshing to have a woman hero who is very skilled, strong, fearless, compassionate, a sensing and feeling human being who is at one with nature and the interconnected web of life; one who although peace loving will fight to the death for what she loves when pushed. And pushed she was, finally triumphing with a graceful leap, a carefully aimed arrow and the snarl of a cat.
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama has proclaimed that it’s the western woman who’s going to change the world, and Marianne Williamson is running a 3 day workshop in LA next weekend, Sister Giant, Rousing the Sleeping Giant of American Womanhood, a rallying call for American women to do more for the suffering world.
Then of course there’s Women on the Edge of Evolution, with a global community now 45,000 strong.
Yes, this is definitely the time I’ve been waiting for and I am putting together a mentoring program for woman leaders, more on this very soon.
I’m convinced that we have a window of opportunity to turn things around on the planet. December 21st 2012 is less that 3 years away, and it wasn’t only the Mayans who predicted the end of time, however we interpret that. Even though President Obama doesn’t appear to be delivering the goods and has sadly and somewhat predictably fallen from hero status given his inability to wave the magic wand, his presidency coincides with and makes more possible this window of opportunity. The change that is to happen has to come from us, the People, from the grassroots, from ever single one of us raising our consciousness and taking our leadership each in our own unique way. Saying. “Yes, I can” and “Yes, we will”. I am ready to stand in the power of the Peaceful Warrior, are you?
Each one of us makes a difference and together we can do what seems impossible.
