Soul Weaving, mentoring for the New Feminine Leaders, is for women who are using their soul power to create a Whole New World, and it came into manifestation this week. It’s no longer just a good idea or a groovy sales page; it’s now a living, breathing entity with an important focus on how we can become even more powerful creators than we already are.
I’d like to unpack and explore a little who the New Feminine Leaders are, and might be. I’ve been delighted to hear people recently talking about the Return of the Feminine, and exploring the Feminine and Masculine principles. Those of us who learned to play with the I-Ching, or Chinese Book of Changes, back in the 70’s became aware of the Yin and the Yang as the most important elements in the ancient Taoist philosophy. The Tao means “The Way” or the flow of the Universe and in order to achieve “effortless doing”, the Yin or the receptive, and the Yang, the active aspect of the creative process, both essential polarities in any act of creation, must be working in harmony.
The blending of the Masculine and Feminine into the Divine Marriage was a central feature of the ancient art and science of Alchemy too, the process by which base metal was turned into gold. And then the founder of depth psychology C.G. Jung in the 20th century, presented the Feminine and Masculine as central elements of the psyche in both men and women and emphasized the necessity to balance and harmonize these aspects of the Self. In the 80’s, feminist psychologists such as Marion Woodman explored these ideas, as a way of deepening our understanding of women’s psychology in a patriarchal world.
Back then, the idea that the patriarchal world would one day melt away, was but a dream. This was the world built on war, inequality, servitude, greed, competition, domination, destruction of nature and suppression of the soul; a world out of balance in which action had become separated from relationship and interconnection. Yang gone crazy. I dreamed the dream of the ending of this old order with my whole being, as did many others. We dreamed it in through our writing and through the excavation of our inner worlds, and by entering our own shadows to bring back the treasures from the dark. We began to understand that as we did this for ourselves we were also liberating something in, and for, the collective. “The personal is political”, was our mantra. As a writer passionate about social change I often felt alone and subversive, as I broke the ancient bonds in my own mind and worked with other women to help them to bring awareness into their own depths.
And now, in 2010, finally the old world is melting away, literally. And at the same time, all over the planet, people are waking from the old dream and realizing it is time to create the New.
But how do we create a Whole New World? We certainly can’t do it from the old mindset, everything has to be seen anew and re-invented from the inside out. This is where the New Feminine Leaders come in. We are women who are bringing back the balance between the Feminine and the Masculine within ourselves as we bring our soul work into the world. This means using the Yin, to be receptive both to our inner being and to the cosmic flow; being open to intuition, inspiration and imagination, and at the same time very grounded in the body, in feeling and on the Earth; and then able then to bring these inspired ideas through into inspired action and manifestation, through the Yang.
There are many ways we can trip ourselves up with old conditioning and limiting beliefs in this process of creation. The Soul Weaving program provides an opportunity for women who are ready to bring their work into the world, to become more aware of their own creative process and to sift through and release old messages about success, leadership and creativity, so that we can find and express our authentic voices in whatever ways we feel called to.
And then there is another level of creating skills which emerges as we work together in a soulful way, and that is co-creation. I will say more about this very exciting process at another time.
