Transforming Grief for Our World into Sacred Activism
This is a group exploration offered in two parts:
Part One: Transforming Grief for Our World through Deep Discovery Conversations
A ten week course, starting on Wednesday of the week beginning 4th October, time to be decided.
Part Two: Embodying the Practice of Sacred Activism
12 sessions over six months, starting week beginning April 4th 2022
These two modules of the Sitting with Death and Choosing Life programme support you to take the time and space to feel into and explore how you are responding to the crises our world, so that you can:
Free your energy from despair, overwhelm, distraction, compulsive doing, fragmentation and anger and direct it into joyful creativity and connection;
Move into action which is responsive, creative, loving and in flow;
Offer your gifts and fulfil your unique soul niche in service to the ecology of Life;
Contribute to the making of a new culture in alignment with Life.
I imagine you are someone who longs to be part of the solution to humanity’s problems rather than part of the problem.
You may be confused and overwhelmed by all the destruction and injustice in our world and unsure how to make a contribution? Or, you know you need to find a creative outlet for your emotions and creativity but you’re not sure what that is? Or, you struggle to balance and renew your energy so that you can stay peaceful and in flow? Or, you feel isolated and long for the companionship and support of a like-hearted group?
Perhaps you’re already aware of the evolutionary necessity to foster the emergence of a new story for humanity? And you’re called to the co-creative adventure of building a new culture based on the knowledge of the essential interconnectedness of all life?
You know you can only truly be part of the necessary transformation of consciousness by bringing your thoughts and actions into alignment with your higher values and this means living from heart and Soul.
Those of us on this path need to make the all important shift from “me” to “we” – from “What’s in this for me and what can I get here?” to “How can I make my best contribution and uplift this situation?” “How can I practice being Love-in-action?”
And that means coming from Beginner’s Mind; cultivating an attitude of creative curiosity; knowing that you don’t know; being prepared to be experimental and “get it wrong” and listen deeply – always – to the feedback life brings.
The big, exciting and daunting challenge of knowing how best to respond to world events, and then to co-create a new culture, stretches us in every possible way and is certainly not a task in which any of us can succeed alone. A new culture grows and spreads cell by cell. When we meet in aligned, intentional groups, for the good of the whole, we can become a bigger, healthier, stronger, more influential organism which inspires, uplifts, challenges and awakens consciousness, sending ripples out into all our relationships.
PART ONE: TRANSFORMING GRIEF FOR OUR WORLD THROUGH DEEP DISCOVERY CONVERSATIONS
This module encourages you to develop a personal practice of inquiry; to participate in the group deep discovery conversations and to create simple rituals to ground and embody your conscious choices.
- The skills of deep discovery support the development of the values, qualities and ways of being necessary for the paradigm shift to a new life-affirming culture. These are the qualities of presence, deep listening, receptivity and responsiveness combined with clarity of intention, commitment, authentic self-expression and an experimental mindset.
- We then use these skills in open inquiry together to explore the themes below;
- To support you in these inquiries you will receive the Sitting wth Death and Choosing Life Resources as stimulus materials.
Deep Discovery Conversations provide the perfect environment in which to:
- Move beyond constricting emotions and limiting thoughts;
- Receive inspiration and expand consciousness;
- Develop more holistic and inclusive perspectives;
- Practice many skills essential for making the paradigm shift to a collaborative culture a reality in our daily lives.
Deep Discovery Conversations are a whole person/whole system approach to relationship, group, organisational and community empowerment. They offer opportunities to engage with collaborative change processes, so that we may:
- Discover a common language to describe and express our experience of living on planet Earth at this time; to move beyond our current beliefs and assumptions about life and find higher, more inclusive, shared meanings for our existence;
- Express the wisdom within and between us and bring into being our highest visions of what is possible in our individual lives, our relationships, families, businesses, communities, country and global family;
- Encourage and support authentic forms of co-creative leadership and Earth stewardship in all contexts and at all levels of responsibility;
- Unlock our collective transformational capabilities and help midwife the birth of a new culture of peace on Earth.
The Sitting with Death and Choosing Life Resources for these sessions comprise:
- Personal reflections on the grieving process and of living through these tumultuous and potentially transformational times;
- Philosophical understandings of death, loss and grief from a psycho-spiritual, holistic perspective;
- Intimate conversations with diverse healers and practitioners
- Questions for inquiry;
- Simple Skills for living creatively.
They are intended to support and focus your inquiry, exploration and discovery and to touch, move and encourage you to connect more fully with your own experience and authentic truth, so that you can move forward with greater ease, joy, courage and compassion.

The Ecology of Soul – Is our Individual Soul Work a Solution to the Crises in our World?
If you find these topics big and daunting please don’t let that put you off. Remember this is an experimental, exploratory process. You don’t need to have the answers, you need only be willing to put aside what you think you know and explore the questions with an open mind and heart – and to become aware what interrupts you in that. Together we will discover wisdom that goes beyond that of any individual. Using the skills of deep discovery we have the chance to become one organism feeling and thinking together into the soul-utions needed by a humanity-in-crisis. And then, buoyed up by the energy and support of the group, you can practice the skills you need to take your next step in offering the unique contribution only you can make.

Part Two: Embodying the Skills of Sacred Activism
Bi-weekly, April – September 2022.
This course takes the learning further through 12 group meetings over six months with the intention of moving from inquiry into creative action on behalf of Life.
It’s an opportunity to apply the skills you have been practicing through deep discovery conversations to your work in the world.
You will do this within a group where you will be supported to be aware of your process, to drop limitations, to keep making the choice to align with Life and to act as skilfully as you are able within all the roles you are called to take on.
My hope is that together we will co-create a microcosm of the new culture within our group and then you will carry that out to every situation in which you are active. In that way, you become a carrier of the seeds of transformation.
You could see this as a coaching and support group for Sacred Activists in the process of becoming, in which we are finding the answers to our questions together.
The focus will be on your work in the world, your creative process and your empowerment; and how you can be a catalyst for transformation in this group and in any situation. We will start with the intention to be experimental, forgiving and generous. We don’t have to have the answers, we simply need to be willing to explore the questions and to take small creative steps.
Fee: Recommended fee £400 Some bursaries are available.
Expressions of interest will be taken from those who have completed Part One. 8 places available.
