Woods and I have been talking together about whether there is a difference between a soulful moment and a magnificent moment. In his article below, Woods writes about the expansiveness of realizing we are cosmic beings, evolution-in-action, and part of a magnificent Universe. I love these wide-open peak experiences and will be joining Woods in sharing some of my own in coming weeks. Soulful moments for me are a more intimate part of daily life; they are those moments that light up an ordinary day, touch and open the heart, illuminate the fabulous weave of life.
As I’m writing snow is falling and the tree outside my window is laced with tiny beads, while a red cardinal seeks sanctuary amidst the bony branches.
Did you take note of life’s magnificent moments this week? It seems to me, to really notice and pay attention is to live in gratitude and to become increasingly aware of the absolute abundance and generosity of the Universe. When I look back on my own week I can feel a magnificent river flowing through my life and I know I am part of a brilliant movement in which more and more people are stepping up to take leadership and offer their unique gifts.
I’d like to share a few of my soulful moments this week.
BIG SKY
Monday, there’s a good six inches of firm white snow still lying after Saturday’s fall, and the sun is clear and bright. I feel the call of open spaces and the keen bite of air on my skin and nostrils, so I clip on Cheyenne’s leash and we joyfully set out on our snow adventure.
It’s a mile or so to our nearest open space at the vineyard and today it takes a bit of concentration to navigate the snow, the passing traffic, and the impulses of the dog. But the effort is worth it. We reach the copse of firs, and as I walk quietly on the carpet of pine needles, Cheyenne races ahead, startling clouds of small birds from the tree tops. Before us the meadow stretches; untouched, white and dazzling. I squat on the lowest branch of a pine, Cheyenne hunkering alert at my side. I open mind and heart to stillness, peace and beauty as soft cloud angels expand into the blue, blue sky.
SOUL FRIEND
Tuesday, I visit my friend Beth and we talk non-stop for more than three hours, only an appointment finally breaks the flow of the conversation. I am sharing with her the new community networking project, 22 Days of Transformation, I am getting ready to launch and inviting her participation. We are both Aries women, natural leaders, and we have both at various times been burned as we’ve stepped into the creative fire of leadership. We agree there is cellular memory at work, not only from this lifetime’s traumas but from the collective mind, from the witch hunts and the other persecutions humankind has visited upon its own over the centuries. I tell Beth that my natural inclination to take initiative and follow the call of my passion has been balanced all my life by reserve and introversion. Taking a leadership role has pushed me through these reservations and resistances, into growth.
HEALING
On Saturday, I re-connect with a tribe of conscious energy shifters and Alisha Lewis is demonstrating a session of EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques. The intention is to shift and eliminate negative childhood memories and psychic patternings. The powerful process which Alisha expertly and empathically leads touches on what I imagine to be species wide conditioning which has taught us to hold back our brilliance and hide our lights. I realize the introspection I had taken to be my true nature, is in fact protection I had put in place and it had become a comfortable and comforting habit and place of refuge. I recall how Andrew Cohen spoke this week about the personality being nothing more than a social construct, and Eckhart Tolle has said the same about the painbody. If these aspects of “me” are simply stories I can now release, who am I? If our stories are shared stories; who am I when I step beyond collective mind?

INSPIRED LEADERSHIP
Thursday
It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking, it can do no other, in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet. Franz Kafka
Life has become an ongoing party of brilliant evolutionaries. This week’s feast included an interview with Andrew Cohen from EnlightenNext www.andrewcohen.org which I found very exciting. He talked about the moral imperative to make the heroic effort to become conscious beings and be the One to make the difference. It’s a heroic effort because no matter how motivated we are, such is the nature of the human mind, we fight every inch of the way against true self knowledge, and cling until we can no longer, to our comfortable habits. However, says Andrew, the new enlightenment is a state of becoming; a dynamic engagement with Eros, the creative impulse which must manifest through us.
BOUNTY
I also participated in a brilliant session this week with Heather Dominick, Success and Master coach www.energyRichcoach.com It’s so exciting to listen to a bright, heart centred, very skilled and successful woman who is making it in business in a conscious way. And it’s thrilling to see so many people learning to transform their passions and desire to make a difference in the world into sustainable businesses.
All these are different aspects of soulful experience to me: being in nature, creative conscious friendship, healing, inspired spiritual leadership and heart-centred business.
